- Insert more than half of the needle into the vein.
- Insert needles parallel to the vein.
- When holding the tail with the index finger and the thumb, hold the thumb slightly lower than the index finger
- When the needle appears to have entered and passed through the vein, slightly withdraw it—without removing it completely—and adjust its position to align with the vein.
