Preparation

You will need

  • Tape or Restrainer to secure simulator
  • Simulated Blood. Red ink diluted with water works best for "blood".
  • Cotton or Tissue to catch flowing "blood"
  • Needle for venipuncture
  • 2 Syringes Fill one syringe with blood and attach the other syringe to a needle that will be used for venipuncture.

Instructions

  1. Secure simulator with tape or in a restrainer.
  2. Attach one of the tubes to the syringe filled with simulated blood, and place cotton under the other tube.
  3. Fill the veins with simulated blood with the syringe.
  4. Insert needle attached to a syringe in the vein and press out air into the vein. When venipuncture is successful, the simulated blood will flow out from the tube onto the cotton or tissue.
